Schizophrenia Poetry

Hi this is the new blog by David Holloway.┬áHere you can read schizophrenia poetry from myself and other people. This is also a blogging site where schizophrenia tips, advice, product reviews, and fantastic blogs will be available. Schizophrenia is a common disorder affecting around 1% of the planet. There are some very good books written by sufferers and movies about schizophrenia including the Soloist, which is one of my favourites. Many schizophrenic’s have great bursts of creativity, and design paintings, write songs, develop photo’s, and of course write poetry. Schizophrenia sometimes comes and goes. When people start recovering they can pass through different stages of this recovery process. I am documenting my emergence, with every negative experience with paranoid schizophrenia in th past, up to now where I am gradually getting on my feet again. In 2009, I graduated from University with honours after studying as a mature student for an undergraduate degree (Bsc) in Physical Education.

I have been published, writing an article for People in Harmony (2010) about my experiences. In this newsletter, a contemporary dance entitled ‘Masks’ was received┬ávery well. The details about ‘Masks’ shall appear on this blog soon. I have written an ebook of poetry, not yet published, ‘The Colours of Schizophrenia’ (2011). This contains poetry written by myself and features uplifting and inspiartional work, as well as insight, love, spiritual and religious poetry. A free sample of this ebook will be available to download on this blog very soon, and these sample poems will be on my main blog. Please subscribe to my blog, and as next I will be outlining 10 schizophrenia pitfalls in my own words gathered since 2001 when I was diagnosed.
