If I died would
the world stop turning?
Would the rainbow in the sky
Fade or loose its colours?

Would the seas
turn another tide? If I died would
the train not reach
the station? Would those
flowers in the wood stop blooming?

If I died would
the nation mourn my
song? Or would there
be a story in the papers?

A footnote in
the obituaries.

If I died would
there be silence
in my soul?

Perhaps a star
would stop shining.
When we die
does anything change?
If we die, are we
brought back to life?
Or do we wait for
Salvation?

Does the devil sigh?
or the angels cry!
Will the Lord ask why?
If I die, simply bury
me with a rose and
let my girl- kiss me
goodbye
