She held on tightly
To her dreams
Only to find herself holding just
A handful
Of dust.
Desperately trying to impel
Herself forward
She sped back
Into endless darkness;
The tunnel sucked her in and down -
And then there was the fire…
The hissing of the flames
Rang in her ears,
A whispering, hollow sound -
A nightmare of demonic voices
Taunting, deriding her till
She could scarcely breathe
Or move
While cruel eyes observed
Her – dispassionately.

As a neurobiology prfessoor at my university pointed out to a friend concerned about marijuana and psychosis links (not me, I was more of a useless liberal arts type), marijuana use has increased 30 fold since 1960. If there was any causal link between marijuana and schizophrenia, then the schizophrenic percentage of the population should have increased almost as much, or at least increase at all. It hasn’t.
I agree with your statement, marijuana has in some studies been suggested as being more effective than anti-psychotics, but then not every person’s body works the same when introduced to the same chemicals. Plus there are different types of cannabis. If one were to look at the suicide rate for cannabis you will find that it’s wrong as u must know. I know people who have died after being psychologically unhinged. My mother is a mental health nurse, and the one’s that smoke never seem to be in the 25% of the population that recover. More work needs to be done in my opinion on this subject.
