Womb

If I could go back into my Mum’s womb,
Assume the foetal position;
I would lie all day and listen to the rhythm
Of the sound of her pounding heartbeat

If I could go back into my Mum’s womb,
Roomed in the crib of her torso;
Wherever she’d go I would follow each stride,
Refuse my debut to the waiting world outside.
