I am going to try an idea.This new poem will be entitled ‘Schizophrenia is…’ and I want people to comment on what the next line is to make a sentence. It’s a fun poem, with an interactive feel. This is a new blog so it does not matter how few, or how many comment. I will start the ball rolling with some of my own suggestions. I think that schizophrenia has been labelled as most people agree, but we can alter its perception by creating a new one. Anybody can comment, but only the most suitable and best (non offensive) will be selected, and then put into a poem. I will credit each persons response in this new ‘interactive poem’.
So here goes schizophrenia is…
..a hidden home for the wondering soul,
..the moment before the light,
.. the ache in my knowing,
… a love that has died but lives on in dreams,
… a day that never ends,

My experience via my oldest daughter gives me this perspective. Wish I could do more to help her and others like her.
I understand the situation from maybe your daughters perspective. I am recovering so there is hope, and my brother is studying neuropsychology, and he tells me about important research on schizophrenia. Thanks so much for your contribution, its helped me, and hopefully others.

i absolutely adore this poem now that i have woekrd out what i think this poem means.i’m sure u werent trying to say ur father went to hell but maybe the flames of hell were a metaphor for threat and a new adventure. thats what it ment to me anyway because u were saying death is the new lesson. u probably ment something completely different tho. but this poem utterly intrigues me. it sounds as tho u and ur family found some peace from mourning and some love. i hope i’m right there xxx
